Green Thumb

Last year's garden was one of our best yet! We are looking forward to continuing the trend this year!
While the club ends in December, the garden will continue to produce during the remainder of the school year! Members are welcome to ask Mrs. Thiebeau for the vegetables as they reach maturity. Look for broccoli and cauliflower in January!
Last year, students geminated seeds for the garden and for planters they took home. Succulents were planted pots decorated by club members. Cuttings from plants were re-rooted and sent home to continue to grow hydroponically or to be transfered to a pot with soil. Our solar powered hydroponic tower garden was not as successful as we had hoped. We will look for ways to improve it this year.
A DonorsChoose project was created by the students to protect the garden from plant eating pests! Using this and Neem oil proved very effective. This year we are hoping to get a small storage shed to store our garden tools and supplies.

The 2023 Egg to Chick was very successful! Students in the club learned about the property of eggs and the life cycle of chickens and ducks.
The 2024 Club will begin in late February. Information about this year's club is here! It will be emailed to homes beginning February 12, 2024
