I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are as excited to be back as I am. My goal is to do all I can to keep students and staff healthy here on campus throughout the school year!!
I have been a RN for over 20 years. The 2024-2025 school year will be my 2nd year as the Sierra Verde school nurse.
The students and staff here at Sierra Verde have become like my extended family. I absolutely love caring for our students while on campus, and I love seeing them out in the community.
A couple of key points as we start the year:
Any prescribed medications to be administered at school must be accompanied by the DVUSD Doctor's Order Form, which is located under the "Forms" tab on this webpage. All prescription medications must have this form signed by a physician. Prescribed medications kept in the health office must have a pharmacy label clearly showing the student's name, dosage, instructions and expiration date.
All medication (prescription or over the counter) must be brought in to the front office by a parent. Students are not allowed to carry any prescription or over-the-counter medication with them on campus unless special accommodations are made by the parent and the nurse. Any medication found in the student's possession (without these special accommodations) will be collected and held in the nurse's office.
All medications must be picked up by a parent at the end of each school year.
If your child becomes ill due to fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, there is no school the next day. We also ask that if your child is sick, please do not send them back to school until they are symptom free. We want your child to feel better and at the same time protect the rest of our school community.
I am so happy to be caring for your child this school year. Please reach out to me via phone, email, or in-person.
I am here to help!
